reader to reader, Rhode Island to Kandahar
The Kite Runner is not just a well-written, engaging book. This book exposes readers to a little known country, a country in great need due to 24 years of warfare and unrest. This novel compels the reader to reach out to the people of Afghanistan. And so, after investigating several aid agencies, Help The Afghan Children (HTAC), an agency suggested by Khaled Hosseini, was chosen as that outreach.
Rhode Islanders will have the opportunity to directly impact a target school, Kohak Primary School in Kandahar. This school is in need of supplies, furniture and supplements for their teachers’ salaries. All funds that are raised through this effort will go directly
to Kohak to help
the school and the children prosper. You are invited to join this effort. For
