What
they're saying about the 2007 RARI Literacy Conference
held Saturday, January 20 at Bryant University, attended
by 150, with 11 workshops, and keynote speaker: author Ron McLarty
Join us and author Ron McLarty at RARI's 5th Annual May Breakfast
I just wanted to say as a first time participant in the RARI Conference I thought the day was very enjoyable, informative and successful!
Several of my friends have participated in the past years as well as Saturday and because of their enthusiasm I wanted to take part.
I felt the conference was very well run, nice choice of workshops, very punctual, well organized and the location was excellent....everything in one building (good for this cold time of the year). Also, the food was really terrific! (I heard from many that it was much better than past years :o)
Thanks so much...I look forward to the May 5th breakfast ~ Conference Participant
Thanks it was great! My colleagues loved it. ~ Conference Participant, Woonsocket HS Library
Saturday's conference was again a phenomenal success. The smiles on everyone's face were an indication of the enjoyment throughout the day-- from the beautiful facility at Bryant College, the dynamic presenters, the fantastic lunch and Ron's moving, humble, and humorous talk.

First off let me say the conference was great!! I think I liked it best so far. Bryant turned out to be a great venue--much more intimate than either RIc or CCRI. Is it because it's a private school???? ~ Conference Participant, School Librarian, Johnston
Thank you for all the hard work you put into Saturday's Literacy Conference! I found it to be interesting and enjoyable. To me, Bryant University was a good place to have it especially since we never had to leave the building on such a cold day. That lunch was so tasty that it deserves repeating. One of my vegetarian friends just had extra salad and green beans and was quite satisfied.
The plans for the May Breakfast look solid. I like how most of the concentration will be on the author( I know that happened last year too: the first three years had too many extras and not enough time with the person(s) we came to hear). I did have a question. Do you think Ron McLarty's talk will be at least somewhat different than Saturday's?
Say, wasn't it nice that Sunday's paper had a write-up about Ron's new book!
Thanks again for all your time and effort for helping to make" Read Across Rhode Island" such a good program. ~ Conference Participant
Reading Across RI's opening event was just wonderful! I'm so glad I did the workshop; it was fun. I thoroughly enjoyed Ron McLarty's talk, had some interesting side conversations, Joyce May's intro was perfect, and the lunch was great. I'd be interested to have any feedback you get on my workshop. In general, a lovely kick-off, but . . . . not enough decaf! ~ Conference Participant
What a superb job you and the other folks did for today's Reading Across Rhode Island. I was impressed, and I thank you ever so much for inviting me. The workshops had high spirits, and we had some fun in learning and reminiscing. I enjoyed it -- nice people all.
I sold 13 books and was invited to speak to everything from The Rooster Games to several book clubs. Everyone is so literate -- what a treat.
I cannot thank you and Patti Folsom, my team leader, enough. Patti is the perfect host(ess). She could win an award for that.
Everything was so lovely - and a delicious lunch to boot. Wonderful. Thank you again so very much.

What a wonderful time I had Saturday! A thousand thank you's. I have had many pressures lately, and have been doing a lot of running around, so I almost didn't come. Am I glad I kept my commitment! It really did me a lot of good. The mental stimulation, the fun people, the thought-provoking workshops. I am so grateful. Thanks so much ~ Conference Participant, Friend of Mt Pleasant Library
